Joshua joined the staff of First Baptist in August of 2025. Originally from Hillsboro, Texas, he moved to Elgin with his family in 2014. He felt called to ministry through a deep passion for serving and seeing others grow in their faith. That calling is what led him—and his wife, Ashley—to FBC Lexington, where they’re both excited to be investing in the lives of students.
Joshua holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work with a minor in Business Administration from Texas State University and will be pursuing a Master of Divinity at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Before coming to Lexington, he served on worship teams and with youth ministries at several of the Baptist churches he attended with his family.
As a youth pastor, Joshua believes that students are the future of The Church and that equipping them with sound theology, a love for scripture, and a strong spiritual foundation is an important responsibility.
When he’s not leading students in the youth group, he is also a business education teacher at Giddings High School. Outside of work, you’ll likely find him practicing up on the bass, slicing it on the golf course, or spending time with his family.
