  • Amy Burch

    Amy has followed the Lord since she was fourteen years old. Through her adult life, she has experienced God's transformative work through her own suffering, grief, and struggles. She has a passion to walk alongside others and point them to Christ. She considers counseling an honor and privilege, and understands she is simply a vessel that the Lord uses to help someone with their struggles. 


    She has been married to Jason for more than twenty years, and they have four children. They pray that God uses their own marriage to help others see God's love, grace, and forgiveness. They have been members of FBC Lexington for a number of years. They both have a passion to serve in the local church. Amy enjoys cooking, reading, and watching Aggie sports with her family. She adores her chickens and loves to be around the dinner table with family and friends. 


    Some of her favorite passages in the Bible are Ephesians 1 and Psalm 139, which reminds her of God's promises, his character, and his love. 


    Amy has a lay biblical counseling certification from Biblical Counseling Course, and is pursuing certification through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. 


    Areas of interest in counseling include: marriage, anxiety, depression, grief, holistic care, abuse, and trauma.

  • Chris Bruce

    Chris is the Lead Pastor and an elder at First Baptist. Originally from Allen, Texas, Chris met his wife, Rachel, while the two were attending college in Abilene. Together they have three beautiful girls - Halle, Addyson, and Elliott. Since their move to Lexington, Chris and Rachel have loved watching God's kingdom grow in the hearts of His people at First Baptist.


    With over fifteen of ministry experience, Chris is equipped to come alongside men in the troubles and trials of life, including overcoming pornography addiction and general spiritual direction. Chris and his wife, Rachel, also do marriage counseling together. 


    Chris is a graduate from Hardin-Simmons University (BBS, MDiv) and Baylor University (DMin). When he's not chasing their three girls, you can probably find him reading, hunting and fly fishing, strumming a guitar, or playing ice hockey.

  • Rachel Bruce

    Rachel enjoys counseling because it is always a privilege to get to witness the way God meets people in the troubles and hardships of life. She has experienced firsthand the benefits of counseling through her own trials and hardships over the years. She hopes to be that help to others as they look to God's Word together. 


    She has been married to Chris for over fifteen years and they have three daughters. Together they serve in ministry in the local church. Over the years Rachel has been involved in college, youth, and women's ministry. She has a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing, and is currently pursuing a Master's of Arts in Biblical Counseling. She believes God created us as embodied beings and it is important to incorporate the body and soul of people in counseling. 


    Rachel enjoys running, fishing, and hiking with her family. She also likes to play board games, play the video game Zelda, crochet, and watch women's college basketball. 


    Areas of interest in counseling include: marriage and parenting, conflict resolution, abuse, anxiety, depression, holistic care, addiction, and trauma.

  • Candice Weiser

    Candice felt the Lord calling her as a young adult to work in mental health. She has a Bachelor's in Science from the University of Texas A&M. She also holds a Master's in Community Counseling. She has worked in a severe psychiatric center and an adoption agency. 


    The Lord pulled her away as she had a strong desire to work with children. She continued her education finalizing her certificate to become a school counselor. The Lord continued to guide her, and she completed a year long training program called Equipped to Counsel. She also received a certification through the Therapon Institute as a certified belief therapist. 


    Her favorite Bible verse is "Jesus answered, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6.


    When not serving in the church or working as the school counselor, Candice enjoys spending time with her husband and three children outdoors. She loves coffee, learning, and sitting by the pool.

  • Meagan Orsag

    Throughout her life, Meagan has experienced God's power to transform and heal her heart through suffering and hardships. God spoke tenderly to her and reminded her that he is the God who "sees her" (Genesis 16:3) and that she "belongs" to him (Isaiah 44:5). She firmly believes that God has, is, and will work out all things for her good and for the good of his children, so that we would be conformed to the image of his Son (Romans 8:28). She considers it an honor and privilege to share God's Word and the good news of our salvation those hurting and in need of care. 


    Meagan, along with her husband Darren, have been members of First Baptist Lexington for several years and have had the privilege of walking alongside their church family. Meagan is currently pursuing biblical counseling certification from the Association of Biblical Counselors. Meagan is a graduate of Texas A&M University (B.S., M.S.) and the University of Texas (Ph. D.). 


    Meagan has been married to Darren since 2017 and they have four daughters. Meagan delights in gardening, photography, beekeeping, food tours, and a good cup of coffee with a friend. 


    Areas of interest in counseling include: Holistic care, marriage, anxiety, depression, stress, abuse, trauma, and disability/navigating medical diagnosis.
